Morning Trip + Tooth and Claw

This trip is an 'add on'
and we only offer it as part of a full day package in
conjunction with the
Schotia Tooth & Claw safari.
Addo Elephant National Park was proclaimed in 1931 to
provide a safe haven for the few wild elephants who survived
government-sponsored culling to remove them in the early
20th century. Today the elephants number in their hundreds,
thanks to the efforts of the National Parks Board and a
unique vegetation type - subtropical thicket, or valley
bushveld. It is this thick, impenetrable vegetation that has
not only provided protection for the elephants and buffalo
in the area, but also provided a rich food source,
supporting what is now the most dense population of wild
elephants on the planet.
Our tour concentrates on
finding and viewing elephants, with knowledgeable guides
interpreting behaviour and giving a detailed insight into
the private life of elephants.
Buffalo sightings are a definite bonus, while you may also
be lucky enough to see dung beetles keeping the park tidy!
Lunch and drinks are included before the tour moves on to
Schotia Private Game Reserve for some real, up-close game
viewing.

Night Packages
Stay
with us overnight and you will not only be lulled to sleep
by the gentle night sounds of Africa, but you will also have
a second drive before breakfast. During the morning drive
you may look for anything you missed the night before, or
have a brief insight into 'the birds and the bees' and other
smaller details that make the bush work. Whether you want a simple
overnight stay with us, or an extended stay to soak up the
atmosphere of the African bush, we have the package deal to
suit your needs.
Option 1: Tooth & Claw
plus Bed and Breakfast
Day 1: Check in for the afternoon / evening Schotia Tooth &
Claw safari and experience some of the best game viewing the
Eastern Cape can offer. Relax over dinner and enjoy our
delicious safari cuisine, knowing that after coffee around
the fire your ranger will take you for a short drive to your
lodge where you will be lulled to sleep by the night sounds
of the African bush.
Day 2: Awake to the sound of birds and have a cup of tea or
coffee before your ranger takes you on a morning drive.
During this drive you can search for any of the animals you
did not see the night before, or start to look at some of
the smaller details that make the bush work. After a hearty
breakfast you return to our reception area where we wave
goodbye and you continue your holiday.
Option 2: Tooth & Claw
plus Addo with 2 nights Bed and Breakfast
Day 1: Check in for
the afternoon / evening Schotia Tooth & Claw safari and
experience some of the best game viewing the Eastern Cape
can offer. Relax over dinner and enjoy our delicious safari
cuisine, knowing that after coffee around the fire your
ranger will take you for a short drive to your lodge where
you will be lulled to sleep by the night sounds of the
African bush.
Day 2: Awake to the sound of birds and have a cup of tea or
coffee before your ranger takes you on a morning drive.
During this drive you can search for any of the animals you
did not see the night before, or start to look at some of
the smaller details that make the bush work. After a hearty
breakfast you change vehicles and it's off to Addo Elephant
National Park for your Addo Tour. The morning is spent
searching for, and viewing elephants in an area containing
the world's most dense elephant population. We eat a
wholesome lunch at a local farmstall restaurant before
returning to the reserve.
A second afternoon / evening safari will give you another
chance to take more photos, see different animals or just
relax and watch the animals' behaviour. Another sumptuous
dinner is followed by your second night in the bush.
Day 3: Awake to the sound of birds and have a cup of tea or
coffee before your ranger takes you on a morning drive.
During this drive you can search for any of the animals you
did not see on previous drives, or look at some of the
smaller details so often missed. After a delicious breakfast
you return to our reception area where we wave goodbye and
you continue your holiday.
